Next set! Full alphabet here.

D: What was the first thing you ever contributed to a fandom?

Probably this Tenipuri crack fic I wrote ages ago, which never made it onto AO3 but it’s on this blog somewhere.

E: Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what?

This is at least half of my output!

Straight crack (this list is not complete):

Crack treated seriously (this list is also not complete):

F: What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? What fandom was it?

How do you want to define longest? I take breaks from fandoms all the time, but I’m still reading Gundam Wing fic right now and I’m still crying over Touya, Yukito, and Eriol from Cardcaptor Sakura.

If we count a sport as a fandom, and I do, it’d have to be figure skating, which I’ve been in since 1997 (?) with a few one- or two-year long breaks, and I always take the off-season (April–October) off.

The longest fandom I’ve been consistently in is One Direction. I’ve taken a few months off here and there but otherwise I’ve been around for 6½ years.

G: What was your first fandom?

What counts here? Learning how to set your VHS player to record shows (figure skating)? Being obsessed with a show (Kodomo no Omocha) enough to look up fanshrines (Cardcaptor Sakura)? Joining an IRC channel to squee with the scanlators when a new chapter came out (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e)? Or stumbling into reading my first fanfic because I couldn’t find the anime online (Weiß kreuz)?

H: Do you prefer live action TV shows or animated TV shows?

In terms of the very best live-action or anime, anime for sure. I think there’s more you can do when you don’t have to be beholden to realism, and for live-action I don’t like bad CGI :/ I love anime with a lot of visual world-building, like Last Exile, Gankutsuou, Seirei no Moribito, and No.6, and I haven’t seen the same level of it in any live-action media other than Inception.

I: Has online caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

Hahaha Kyou Kara Maou. I had a minor breakdown after two overwrought comments more-or-less accused me of ruining the writers’ lives. IIRC I stopped going on LJ communities for an entire summer, and I never managed to get back into watching or reading the canon.

J: Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over the internet.

Is this not most of my fandoms? That said I do predate ~social media~, and I don’t think getting into a fandom via fanfic like I usually do counts. My first true “fandom via social media” would be One Direction, which I kept seeing on Tumblr and occasionally reading fic for, and then one day I saw a photo of Louis Tomlinson sliding down a hill in France and that was it for me.

Q: A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.

B—. It is very much late-stage capitalism: the fandom, and I just got tired of it for the last time.
