I watched one film and it was Rogue One. I’m not about to call it a favourite.

Your favourite book read this year?

Answered in October, but I’ll rec another fic: The Last Prince of Tenebrae by ohmyfae (FFXV).

Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?

To be quite honest it was HYYH and Agust D, but let’s go for stuff released this year. Since I already talked about my favourite albums in my previous post, I’ll just rec individual songs:

Said the Whale, Fucks To Give—Sooo this song isn’t really posted online anywhere, but it’s on this mixtape at 27:12. STW might have gone pop, but this track is as rock as ever, just with more lush instrumentation.
eastern youth, SONGentoJIYU—Here’s another cathartic from a weathered punk band that hasn’t lost any of its raison d’être.
Gozen 3ji to Taikutsu, Umi wo Miteiru—This band has grown so much in the past year and a half since I first saw them live. This song starts off slow and introspectively and builds into a beautifully cathartic refrain.
Bangtan Sonyeondan, Spring Day—Why can’t BTS just put out an album centred around this sound, I don’t ask for much.
illion, BANKA—This reminds me a lot of the Zankyou no Terror soundtrack in its light and hesitant instrumentation. If you liked that you’ll like this.
w-inds, Time Has Gone—My shocker of 2017. w-inds releasing amazing music? w-inds releasing netlabel music??? Congrats to w-inds to breaking the curse of Japanese boybands and actually making music that’s at the forefront of musical trends.
Suran, If I Get Drunk Today—Speaking of, this (produced by Suga) has a bit of netlabel influence in the intro/first verse. The production is always changing and playful, and just a joy to listen to. (Also the piano in the breakdown is so Suga.)
